Aminath Shaeera is an internationally recognized expert in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), with extensive experience in aligning organizational strategy with globally recognized risk and compliance frameworks. She is the Founder and CEO of Achievia Consultancy, where she leads advisory services that strengthen institutional resilience and support sustainable business growth.
With over a decade of professional experience across the financial, regulatory, and corporate sectors, Shaeera has played a pivotal role in developing and implementing enterprise-wide risk and strategy frameworks. Her expertise draws on international standards including ISO 31000, COSO Internal Controls, and best practices in corporate governance and compliance.
Shaeera began her career at the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), where she spearheaded the development of ERM, AML/CFT, and compliance frameworks. These initiatives established system-driven processes that improved institutional accountability and risk oversight. Since then, she has advised multiple national agencies and private enterprises on embedding risk-sensitive processes into core operations, spanning finance, procurement, HR, and digital transformation.
As Director of Risk and Strategy at Watercress Capital, the Maldives’ first licensed investment advisory firm, and as an Independent Director and Audit Committee Chair at Solarelle Insurance, Shaeera has contributed at both the board and executive levels. She brings a unique ability to bridge strategic planning with risk management, ensuring that business plans are not only visionary but also operationally achievable and risk-informed.
Shaeera is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and a certified ERM Specialist, delivering training and consultancy on risk and strategy across the Maldives. In recognition of her contributions, she received the Global Top 50 Professional and Career Women Award (2025) and Career Leadership Award in Business Management (Gold Category) from Women in Management in 2024.
